Here are some great shots from Kuya Rommel’s fishing trip to Lubang. It’s amazing to know that we do have fish these sizes in Philippine waters. It just tells us that our country is rich in resources and therefore should be taken care of and protected by the government.
I was actually surprised when I saw the pictures so I am sharing these with all of you…

I got a call from Oliver this afternoon asking if I could book them a room at Borgata. Borgata is a resort hotel in Atlantic City and a great place to take the kids just to stay for a couple of nights. They have a pool there and you can drive easily to the boardwalk to take the kids and have them play at the amusement park.
I think Ate Vina’s family will be joining them as well so their kids can spend some time with Oliver’s kids as well.
It reminds me of our Titas and Titos back in the Philippines. I remember one time, they took us all to Luneta. It was a simple trip and enough for the kids to play and get acquainted with their cousins. Those memories and events are the reasons why the Reyes cousins are so close today. Simple things – yet they last a lifetime.

It’s the beginning of the school year for the kids in Manila while it is the beginning of summer for kids here in the U.S. Kids had their fun in the sun (and heat) in the Philippines while the kids here are simply looking forward to get away from it all and go to a theme park or go out of state for a long vacation.
I haven’t had the time to plan for mine since I arrived from Germany last Friday but I really need one. For the 4th of July, I am going to take a long weekend getaway to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware with some friends. It would be a nice time to relax and re-charge. How about you? Where are you spending July 4th?

I was a bit disappointed to find out that Germany lost against Spain during the finals yesterday. I was rooting for Germany since I stayed there for a month and witnessed the energy and the enthusiasm of the Germans as they climbed their way to the finals.
I emailed my colleagues in Frankfurt this morning and although they are very sad that they lost, they do think that Spain was well-equipped and played really well. That’s the beauty of the sport. They take it well when they lose. No harsh feelings there. Podolski is still my player when it comes to the German team. There is always next year.

During my trip here in Germany, we had our Global Conference in Amsterdam as well. It is some kind of ‘meeting of the minds’ for our newly formed division within the company. I arrived in Amsterdam by train so I was able to see Cologne, Dusseldorf, and another city that I forgot in the process. The train ride took approximately three hours from Frankfurt. It was another great experience for me and I thank God for his blessings. I would have never made it to these countries if not for His blessings.
Amsterdam is a treasure. According to historians, during World War II, the Germans bombed Rotterdam and flattened it while leaving the city of Amsterdam intact. The result of that has been the preservation of historical and majestic buildings all over Amsterdam. The youngest building, I was told – is 100 years old. The city is linked with canals all over. You can actually take a boat ride for 18 euros and tour the city that way. I took the boat ride and visited the Anne Frank house. As you may all know, Anne Frank became known for her diary which was published in many different languages. She was a Jew and her family hid in this house in Amsterdam during the war. They were eventually captured and taken to the concentration camps. Her uncle returned to this home in Amsterdam only to find that a diary was written by Anne Frank detailing their plight.
Here are some of the pictures of the city.
