Our heart goes out to Ate Bebot and children. We heard that Kuya Danny Dominguez passed away last weekend, May 23. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time. However, to all who would like to offer prayers or masses for the repose of Kuya Danny’s soul – we thank you.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to Kuya Danny’s family.

We all know our Lola Chayong dearly (at least anyone who was born before 1980).  Most of the people in Baclaran knows her as well as she is one of the icons there teaching kids at her mini-school along Tomas Claudio.

Our Lola Chayong is one who had unswayed integrity, big-hearted and loved by all who came in contact with her.  Today marks her death anniversary.

Calling our relatives in Manila to please visit her gravesite on our behalf.  We, on the other hand will offer prayers for the repose of her soul.

I posted the video here to share with all of you about a couple of months back. Randy Pausch is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. At the university, each professor is tasked in giving a class called, “The Last Lecture”. They are to provide their students what they think should be appropriate should it be their last lecture.

Randy Pausch however, provided a lecture to his students and it couldn’t be more ironic because he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The video reached levels on Youtube like you would not believe. As of this writing, the video has received over 4 million views. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006 and has lived couple more years until his death last Friday, July 25th.

I know that he was Ate Annie’s idol as a teenager. She claims that he resembles someone.. (haha- who could it be?!) . I received a text message from Ate Veenah this morning saying that Rudy Fernandez has died of periampullary cancer. I already learned about it on Inquirer.net so I didn’t text her back.

It just made me think and I think I’m going to have to go back to the prescription smoking cessation medicine given to me by my doctor. It should not be this hard to quit smoking. Kuya Boyette has been smoke-free for five years now I think? And Kuya Rey has obviously quit smoking as well.

The irony is – Rudy never smoked or drank alcohol according to sources. Hmmm. Makes us wonder right? I remember a funny story by Tito Larry Alcala. He said before, “Why should I stop smoking now? You can get cancer even if you don’t smoke. I should just continue on!” Tito Larry is a real trooper. He’s always jolly and always on the go. If I could only be as strong as he is when I get to his age.

May Rudy Fernandez rest in peace.

Thanks to all those who condoled with us and prayed for the repose of the soul of my maternal grandfather, Lolo Logito.

His remains lie in state at our residence at 3979 Airport Road, Baclaran, Paranaque City, Metro Manila 1702. Interment is slated for June 7, Saturday. 

However, the family has yet to decide if he will be moved to the Sta. Rita De Cascia Chapel on Friday night.
