It was good to see Ate Tina and Kuya Leslie in NYC.

Published by under Family Reunions

During Ate Josie’s (Dominguez-Uy) surprise birthday celebration in New Jersey last February, we were delighted with a surprise visit from Kuya Leslie and Ate Tina (Reyes-Tanchico-Reyes) as well. Two physicians who are here in the U.S. for a conference. They stayed for two weeks I believe and made a stop at the birthday celebration of Ate Josie on their way back home. Nice to see you Kuya Leslie and Ate Tina!

Pretty soon, we are hoping to see the dentists in the family as well – like Ate Rocelle (Tanchico) and Ate Marivic (Dangoy). It would be nice if they could stay here long enough to give us all some dental services that are way too expensive to be done here. I am looking for a new dentist myself. My last dentist weren’t accepting Aetna anymore and advised me that I have to find a new dentist.

Actually, it’s not hard to find a dentist. You can simply go online and find them around your local area. If I search for New Jersey Dentist, or Tampa Dentist, or New York Dentist as my search criteria, I could easily find dentists available. The hard part is finding out if they are the right dentist for you. Does anyone know of a good dentist here in New Jersey? I need one bad.

Blessed Easter Everyone!

Published by under Family Reunions

I hope each and everyone of you had a Blessed Easter! I’m sorry I wasn’t able to join family for Easter this year. Everyone is simply busy with their own thing and it has been very difficult to get together with family regardless of what occasion it is.

I hope that by next year, we can have a family gathering for all kids to be together like we all used to in the years before. We could definitely do the Easter Egg hunt somewhere in one of the homes in Maryland or New York – whoever has the willingness to share their backyards.

The kids are all growing fast and we need to keep the tradition before they forget it. We just need better planning.

A plaque made of bronze.

Published by under Family Reunions

To anyone out there who remembers Lolo Cardo, you may have known as well that he had a stable of horses while we were growing up.  I don’t remember much of it but I do remember seeing the bronze plaques in Tita Luding’s house where one of his horses was awarded 2nd prize I think.  I didn’t know that there were more of it because I only saw one until Kuya Eric Tancico started putting them all together as one collection, I guess in memory of Lolo Cardo.

Now I know why bronze was used to create those plaques.  It’s because bronze is timeless.  There used to be bronze foundries everywhere yet they come very few and far between these days.  But did you know that there is still one foundry here in the U.S. that specializes in Bronze Plaques and Grave Markers?  And you don’t have to personally visit the place, you can place your order online by visiting BronzeMarkersAndPlaques.com and place your order. Shipping is free and the cost is very minimal. The foundry has been around for over a hundred years and is still family-owned to this day. You can get proofs by fax or email before they begin the work.

I wonder if Kuya Erick still has Lolo’s collection. I hope he could send us pictures so I can post it here on our family blog.

This was funny: Remember when Sex was safe and Motorcycles were dangerous?

Published by under Family Reunions

I didn’t know how famous motorcycles have been in the past and all the way to the present. I remember when Kuya Ray took me for a ride as a child in and around Baclaran when he had one. That was a long time ago and I can still remember how much fun it was. But I never dared getting one.

I was speaking to my boss who at first glance, wouldn’t strike you as a motorcycle lover. And it’s not just any motorcycle, it’s a Harley. Working in I.T. doesn’t give a blatant expression of “Harley Rider”. We’re usually thought of as nerds and geeks. You’ll be surprised. One girl chimed in the conversation and said that she and her husband owns Harleys as well! Ha!

I don’t know if any of the family members like motorcycles but if you do, did you know that you can join a motorcycle community and get all kinds of perks? They provide free motorcycles from time to time, offer discounts on motorcycles and a simple way as well to connect with fellow bikers and keeping in touch with them. You can even upload photos, videos or audios to share you bike stories. It’s pretty neat actually. What better way to get connected with other bike lovers than to join a community. I’ve seen many fun pictures and videos through their website. It’s a real community!
