To anyone out there who remembers Lolo Cardo, you may have known as well that he had a stable of horses while we were growing up. I don’t remember much of it but I do remember seeing the bronze plaques in Tita Luding’s house where one of his horses was awarded 2nd prize I think. I didn’t know that there were more of it because I only saw one until Kuya Eric Tancico started putting them all together as one collection, I guess in memory of Lolo Cardo.
Now I know why bronze was used to create those plaques. It’s because bronze is timeless. There used to be bronze foundries everywhere yet they come very few and far between these days. But did you know that there is still one foundry here in the U.S. that specializes in Bronze Plaques and Grave Markers? And you don’t have to personally visit the place, you can place your order online by visiting BronzeMarkersAndPlaques.com and place your order. Shipping is free and the cost is very minimal. The foundry has been around for over a hundred years and is still family-owned to this day. You can get proofs by fax or email before they begin the work.
I wonder if Kuya Erick still has Lolo’s collection. I hope he could send us pictures so I can post it here on our family blog.
Thanks for the blog on http://www.BronzeMarkersAndPlaques.com! Our non-profit group needs a large commemorative bronze plaque and (ugh!) my wife needs to start shopping for a bronze grave marker for her aunt since nobody else in the family is showing interest in helping look for something that’s affordable.
