When we were kids, Tita Dely, Tita Conching, Tita Tessie, our mom – Nena, Tita Rosie and Tita Luding will take their kids to a place in Novaliches. I think it’s the ranch that Lolo Cardo owned – I’m not so sure. But I remember Tita Dely asking the land caretaker to gather some sugar canes for the kids a soon as we arrive. We would munch on the sugar canes as if our lives depended on it. I didn’t know whether Lolo Cardo or Tita Dely was involved in Sugar Trading as I believe we had a whole farm of it.
We would ride the horses and the kids would play at the fields. Those were memories that I will never forget. I have even seen pictures during the time when our older Ate’s and Kuya’s like Ate Agnes and and Ate Babylynn riding Lolo Cardo’s horses. I wish we can still experience the same thing and share it with the generation of today. Life was so simple back then.
