Another alternative to Colon Cleansing.

Published by sanglahi under Affiliate Posts

We all know that cleanliness is next to holiness.  That is applicable not only on the surface but we have to be sure that our body are clear of toxins, and we do have natural ways of cleansing our bodies.  Some are myths and some are proven science but we do it anyway.  Remember “ampalaya” is supposed to clean our blood.  We also drink a lot of vitamin C or “kalamansi” to get rid of viruses in our bodies.

Body Detoxification or Colon Cleansing has been on the news much lately because of colon cancer.  We eat a lot of things that leaves residue along our stomach lining that stay there for years and years!  Can you believe that?  I know it’s pretty disgusting if you think about it.  Colon Cleanse is a process by which cleanses your colon by taking what they call oxypowder to clean your colon.  If you must know, sometimes you feel too weak or loss of appetite.   You may even experience constipation which is quite common among Asians and their diets.

If you suffer any of these, you should try colon cleanse.  You will feel much healthier and cleaner inside and out.  You will experience renewed vitality and it helps boost your immune system as well.    We are not getting any younger folks – - let’s start taking care of our bodies.

Randy Pausch, author of The Last Lecture, succumbs to cancer.

Published by sanglahi under In Memoriam

I posted the video here to share with all of you about a couple of months back. Randy Pausch is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. At the university, each professor is tasked in giving a class called, “The Last Lecture”. They are to provide their students what they think should be appropriate should it be their last lecture.

Randy Pausch however, provided a lecture to his students and it couldn’t be more ironic because he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The video reached levels on Youtube like you would not believe. As of this writing, the video has received over 4 million views. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006 and has lived couple more years until his death last Friday, July 25th.

Here’s the video in case you missed it.

Do you cook much? Share your recipes with us.

Published by sanglahi under Affiliate Posts

I was watching the news the other day and ABC News had completed a research on how to make the best Chocolate Chip Cookie. Apparently, the famous cookie recipe that was created by Ruth Wakefield in error when she ran out of regular baker’s chocolate that she mixes with here Butter Drop Do cookie dough. She replaced it with Nestle semi-sweet chocolate bar and the guests at the Toll House Inn that she ran loved it. As the guests consumed much of the chocolate chip cookie, the sales of Nestle Chocolate grew with it. Andrew Nestle and Ruth Wakefield formed a partnership where Ruth will print the recipe on the package of her cookies to include Nestle Chocolate as an ingredient and Andrew Nestle will provide her a lifetime supply of chocolates for her cookies.

The original recipe contained the Key Ingredients and a very special process that made the chocolate chip cookie taste a lot better. What is that you say? The cookie dough is left to stand 48 hours in the fridge before baking in order for the flavor to seep through the dough. However, this part was left out as the recipe was passed on. The investigation proved by doing taste tests that the cookie dough that was left to sit for 48 hours was better than the cookie dough that was baked as soon as it was mixed, or the cookie dough that was left to sit for 12 hours.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to store original recipes on the web for all to share? Share your Key Ingredients online and keep them there. Therefore, the version will be the same for everyone who wants to use your recipe. Never leave anything out and store them online. You can actually search for recipes you’d like to have. you can find recipes by Ingredient, by tags or the latest posted recipe. Next time you create a good recipe – share it online.

Projects Projects Projects…

Published by sanglahi under Affiliate Posts

That is what summer is like for me. Isn’t it the same for everyone else out there? I end up looking for things to be completed and the thing is, there is always something that I find to do. I noticed as well while visiting my friend Juan in San Diego that there are lots of work being done not only in homes but outside as well. There are concrete street construction San Diego area, and as beautiful San Diego already is – I am not surprised they try to maintain the streets well. That is what I noticed and if you should take notice, there are a lot of concrete structures in San Diego. I am tempted to call them “structural concrete San Diego” just because they seem to have these beautiful landscapes, decorative concrete structures that are polished and grounded.

If ever I want my landscaping worked on, I think I will rely on a company like the companies that create “concrete San Diego” as beautiful as they are. The companies I believe not only specializes in Parking Structures or street improvements but they do landscaping, polishing, sealing, restorations and all that! And they do amazing work. I do hope that those companies have counterparts here on the east coast. I need to have my patio restored and lanscaping to be done. I am telling you all, if you need concrete work – these companies know what they are doing. They specialize in the following: Structural Concrete, Street Improvements, Site Concrete, Decorative Concrete. I think you can never go wrong with them.

Hey have you heard about this?  The new pedicure by Garra Rufa fish (toothless fish) that eats your dead skin?!  A spa in Virginia offers the service which is apparently a practice in China.  A Chinese businessman has opened up the spa where folks are actually flocking in for the treatment.

Take a look at the pictures below… Do we have this in the Philippines?  Well, there’s an idea for you… open a SPA that offers fish pedicure… they said it doesn’t hurt – it just tickles.  How about that?

The secret of successful Project Management.

Published by sanglahi under Affiliate Posts

I wanted to share my experience with all of you regarding my successful Global Integration trip in Germany. I had to integrate four countries into our Global Portal and in the process, I was only given one week per country. The countries are Germany, Italy, Spain and Czech Republic. Please note that these countries use different systems and we needed to understand their process, map the data properly into our portal using XML or other data format such as EDI. We had different producst involved in their supply chain and it involved Exports and Imports using different modes such as Air, Ocean, Rail and Truck.

To manage these projects and complete them in one week would have been difficult but as a Project Manager, my task was to make sure that the projects were completed on time and on budget. This is where a Time Management Software comes in handy. The cost for these project was allocated and it required careful planning using a powerful enterprise timesheet and expense management software for contractor management and resource tracking so that we could control the expense from a resource standpoint. We had to be able to manage the risk when we know that we may be falling behind and what best course to take to get us back on track.

The project was successful and I came home feeling great with the progress. Everything was done on time and on budget. The jist is, do not execute a project without a Project Plan. Manage a project like you would manage your own home project. You wouldn’t want to pay more than your budget right? It works the same way. If you control it (and this software is great for that), you’re more than likely to succeed.

No Chain Letters Please…

Published by sanglahi under Family Reunions

The Sanglahi Moderators just sent an email to our Yahoo Group.  We keep receiving forwarded emails that contain nothing but threatening phrases such as “If you do not forward… blah blah blah – -then something bad….”

I hate those emails and I’m sure all of you do too.   So we sent out an email requesting people to stop sending chain letters through our group.  I hope that it is okay and that no one was offended.

Thanks!

We’re not getting any younger.

Published by sanglahi under Health,Health Tips

I didn’t expect it this soon as well. I need to be more active. I am starting to feel the pain on my joints, my knees and everywhere else possible. I am still at a very young age and really, I shouldn’t feel “age creeping up on me”. I am simply not active enough. I know for a fact that one day, it will be inevitable and I would need to take care of myself now before it catches up on me.

We do have our Aunts and Uncles who are up there in age and most of them (thank God!) are mobile enough on their own and although they feel aches and pains, they can still manage. If you know of someone in the family that has a difficult time getting up because of injured knees or whatever – it doesn’t have to be age… there are Lift Chairs available that could be of assistance to them. The chairs are designed really well and it could be his or her favorite chair in the living room where if there are no one there to assist, he or she can lift her self up without any problems.

I think it will add confidence to them as well because they will feel less dependent on you or anyone to be able to move around and stand up on their own. Just a thought.

Let’s plan our Christmas in New York.

Published by sanglahi under Christmas in New York

I know we all have a standing invitation to spend Christmas at Neil Alcala’s home for Christmas.  It is a nice way to spend Christmas together in one place but I was thinking, maybe those who want to spend the day in Manhattan can spend the night at the Alcala’s home in Port Jeff, NY I believe?  Then on Christmas Day, we will do what we did several years back… go around Manhattan, go skating at Rockefeller Center and then have hot chocolate and croissants somewhere around the area as well?   What do you guys think?

We did that one Christmas and I think everyone had a blast.  I would like to take the younger kids to the Radio City Music Hall event as well.   Votes anyone?
