When you think of furniture – where do you normally go?

Published by under Affiliate Posts

I have a new dog now. His name is Jake. The same breed as the one that I had called Simba. Don’t get me wrong – I like Jake and he’s still a fun loving dog but I do miss Simba. Simba never chewed on anything when he was a puppy but Jake – - ahhhh jake. He chewed on the wood frame of my bed. I though it was something that I could save but I must sell it now and get a bed. I liked the bedroom set I have right now but it’s time for a change anyway. It’s been eight years with that furniture. It’s a good thing I have the stimulus check refund arriving this month so I could buy the bedroom set that I want. It’s a cape cod bedroom set. Have you ever seen it?

Furniture shopping is not easy, specially if you’re shopping for Bedroom Furniture. I went through a lot before I found my first bedroom set. Now, I have to start all over again. The next thing I have to save for is for a new Living Room Furniture Set. The old one has to go too.

Our heart goes out to the victim of the capsized liner in the Philippines.

Published by under Uncategorized

I was hearbroken when I saw on CNN today that due the the storm Fengshen that hit the Philippines, a ferry liner capsized in the process carrying 800 total passengers including crew members.   They were still awaiting news at the time that I read it if there were any survivors.

They have pictures upon pictures of families waiting to hear the news and it is sad to see.  I couldn’t imagine having to sit and wait for news like that.   So, our heart goes out to all the families of the people aboard the ferry liner.  Our prayers are with you and your family.  We hope that there will be many survivors.

Dear Family: Do you use contact lenses? How about saving some cash?

Published by under Affiliate Posts

I know that many of us in the family wear prescription glasses. I was even surprised to see the young ones as young as five years old wearing glasses. Like Jeremy, (Divina’s youngest) kids are wearing prescription eyeglasses earlier and earlier. I also know that most of them wouldn’t want to wear prescription glasses but rather wear contact lenses like the rest of us. Wearing eyeglasses can be a hassle sometimes.

A good alternative that many of us have used are contact lenses. There are different types of contact lenses. I’ve tried almost every single one on them but have you ever tried acuvue oasys or commonly known as Acuvue Oasis have provided a breakthrough in comfortable contact lenses. The one thing that bothered me when trying out different contact lenses was my eyes’ sensitivity. I can find out immediately if a contact lens is not good for me because the irritation is immediate. My eyes would turn red and itchy within minutes of wearing the contact lenses. It’s different with Acuvue. I was able to wear the contact lens without any irritation and it has the advanced inside-out “AV” indicator that tells you whether you are putting in on incorrectly and helps assist you with the application.

You can also save a lot of money if you buy your contact lenses online. I know most of us are trying to squeeze our budgets these days due to the economy and high prices of everything and anything we buy. Try to buy them online – you can purchase you contact lenses for as low as $16.49 per box (after mail-in rebate). Try it now and save!

My trip to Amsterdam, Netherlands

Published by under Travel,Travels

During my trip here in Germany, we had our Global Conference in Amsterdam as well. It is some kind of ‘meeting of the minds’ for our newly formed division within the company. I arrived in Amsterdam by train so I was able to see Cologne, Dusseldorf, and another city that I forgot in the process. The train ride took approximately three hours from Frankfurt. It was another great experience for me and I thank God for his blessings. I would have never made it to these countries if not for His blessings.

Amsterdam is a treasure. According to historians, during World War II, the Germans bombed Rotterdam and flattened it while leaving the city of Amsterdam intact. The result of that has been the preservation of historical and majestic buildings all over Amsterdam. The youngest building, I was told – is 100 years old. The city is linked with canals all over. You can actually take a boat ride for 18 euros and tour the city that way. I took the boat ride and visited the Anne Frank house. As you may all know, Anne Frank became known for her diary which was published in many different languages. She was a Jew and her family hid in this house in Amsterdam during the war. They were eventually captured and taken to the concentration camps. Her uncle returned to this home in Amsterdam only to find that a diary was written by Anne Frank detailing their plight.

Here are some of the pictures of the city.

A new kind of tax software making online tax filing easy.

Published by under Affiliate Posts

I hope that many of you filed you taxes online this year. I have been doing it for years, ever since I came back from California. One great advantage that I found was the rapid refund. If you are expecting any refund, filing online is the best because you can receive your refund directly to your back account in days after your filing has been accepted. Your online taxes are processed within 24 hours after submission and you will be notified immediately once your filing has been accepted and approved.

There are currently two major company dominating the market and that is Turbo Tax and Tax Act. However, there is a new Tax Preparation Company on the market now that promises to deliver the best and the most refund you can receive. They have processed millions of tax returns and have gained so much experience in the process that they can process any type of tax filing from individuals to corporations. One other good thing is that the software is FREE for you to try. I can never go back to manually filing income taxes by mail. The chances of your tax documents getting lost in the mail may be slim but there is still that possibility. If you file online, you will know within 24 hours whether your filing has been accepted or not.

Headquartered and incorporated in New York City, Victory Tax Service, Inc is a full service IRS authorized Income Tax Consultancy Company. Our key consultancy services are corporate, partnership, self-employed and individual Income Taxes.

Meeting fellow bloggers in Frankfurt, DE

Published by under Travel

A mini castle located in downtown Frankfurt.

The blogging world has been good to me. I think I made the right choice to pick blogging as a medium for our family website. It enables me to meet cool people all over the world as well us tell them *and brag* about our family. It has definitely opened a new world for me and our website as a whole.

Meet Kengkay – one of the Flilipina Mom bloggers in Frankfurt, Germany. I got to meet her, her husband and her little Kengkays. They picked me up from the hotel and gave me a short tour of the city. We went shopping and they took me out to dinner as well.

Staying and living healthy.

Published by under Affiliate Posts

Before I left for my trip, I visited my doctor for my annual check up. I had complained about getting tired so easily and always finding myself out of breath when I walk even short distances. I know that a part of it is smoking (I already received my smoking cessation prescription), and I am planning to quit soon but my doctor said it’s not the only reason. He took blood tests after blood tests to confirm if I was anemic. My blood count is really low and he was concerned if I have ulcer and wanted to find out. The good news is, he found nothing.

Do you know that process by which you have to go through before the procedure? You are ordered not to eat solid food after a certain time and you are also not allowed to take in colored fluids like orange juice or cranberry juice. The procedure will clean your insides out so that they could scope your large and small intestines for any irregularities. What I felt after the procedure was quite interesting since it cleaned out all the unhealthy toxins surrounding my stomach it felt good.

I wanted to be able to do that regularly to keep my body clean from all the unhealthy deposits I have from the food that I eat. I heard about Colon Cleanse. It is something that you take (called a colon cleanser) that is used to aid the body in relieving irritation and constipation associated with a toxic colon.

Surprisingly, the product is known to help restore and maintain regularity. We’re all not getting any younger. It cleanses, refreshes and detoxifies your body. The most common symptoms I experience from an unhealthy digestive system is bloating, lack of energy, and weight problem.

If you’re thinking about how you can stay on top of your game – you should try using a colon cleanser. After I come back from my trip, I have vowed to quit smoking, go back to the gym and perform the colon cleansing procedure as well. There’s no other time to start a healthy lifestyle but now.

A purpose driven life – shared by Kuya Rommel Dominguez

Published by under Inspiration

Kuya Rommel shared a very good story about Rick Warren, the author of the book ” A Purpose Driven Life”. I thought it was a great read so I wanted to share it with the family. We sometimes forget that there is Someone else we need to answer to. That our life here on earth is really just a “dress rehearsal”. It’s a practice on how we will live life throughout eternity. Read on, enjoy and hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Rick Warren (REMEMBER HE WROTE ‘PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE’). You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now having cancer and him having ‘wealth’ from the book sales. This is an absolutely incredible short interview with Rick Warren, ‘Purpose Driven Life ‘ author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California

Sightseeing in Frankfurt

Published by under Affiliate Posts

I had a full weekend here in Frankfurt where I can do some sightseeing. Frankfurt is a good city. I like the old churches and but most of all, the people are very friendly. The city itself (as I’ve been told by cab drivers), is really safe. Plenty of sights to see, along the Main (pronounced MINE) river and the surrounding areas including museums that are world class.

I have a friend who has a Canon Digital SLR and these are the times I wish I had one. The camera that I brought didn’t do much justice to the beauty of the city when I captured them. It is also the Euro Cup 2008 season and the city is bustling with fans of their own country teams. I captured some of those as well. I will be posting some pictures in a little bit.

Due to my disappointment, when I got home – I wanted to take a look at Cheap Digital Cameras with a price I can afford. I found a site that actually provides you with a price comparison on items that you are looking for. One website search engine that provided me all the prices from different sites at a glance.

I could probably purchase a Canon EOS 4000 / Rebel XTi Digital camera now that I know where I could get it for the best price. It’s too bad I only have five more days left here in Germany but I hope to capture more pictures for me to share with all of you. Wait for my post.

How is your relationship with your dad? Dads? How about your relationship with your sons?

Published by under Inspiration

I received an email from a friend here in New Jersey. Ate Josie met her once before. She used to be the owner of a Filipino Restaurant in South Jersey called “Kamayan”. I know that Ate Josie and (ironically) Sister Josie hit it off really well because at the time Sister Josie was selling her restaurant, she had found out she has breast cancer. Ate Josie, being a breast cancer survivor – was able to give her comfort and told her that everything is going to be alright.

Well, after treatment and weeks of chemotherapy – Sister Josie is now a breast cancer survivor as well. She is also a Christian and shared the email with me. Read the inspiring story and watch the inspiring video.
