June is for weddings..
My neighbor is getting married this year. I wish she was getting married in June. After all, June is for weddings isn’t it? She opted to get married in October instead. But, that’s cool – I can live with that. It’s not the usual wedding that I go to but it will be as fabulous I’m sure. The last June wedding I attended ended up in divorce so, who can really say right?
She is now busy preparing for the wedding. Her mom is driving her insane because she insisted on helping out with the preparation but looking for wedding table linens is the least of her worries. Regardless though, I can understand her mother’s point of view. You only want the best for your wedding. Besides, it’s supposed to happen only once in your lifetime.
So I told her – relax. Let your mom worry about the wedding table linen. She’s happy to do it. Just tell her that you give her full authority to pick the one she wants. Don’t lose sight of this beautiful milestone that is about to happen to you. She calmed down after a bit and told me that I was right. Of course, I’m right! Haha!
Now she is busy with the fitting, the bridesmaids and the reception. I also told her that those things were enough for her to handle.. and let her mother do the rest. I can’t wait! I was invited together with my better half but we’re no longer together so I guess I’m going alone. Who knows? The most successful love stories I’ve heard that have lasted met through other people’s weddings? So, I will just have to keep my eyes open.
