The month of May – Most memorable month for the Reyes’
Does everybody remember the yearly tradition that Lola started during the month of May? It’s the “alay” to our Blessed Virgin where all the cousins dress up in white and offer flowers to Our Lady. The songs that the blue ladies sing?? 
How about the “merienda” afterwards?
Lola Chayong has a great devotion to the Blessed Mother. I remember how she organizes the whole procession and line everyone up to walk through the crowded streets of Baclaran towards the Church of Santa Rita de Cascia. Wonderful memories indeed!!
If anyone out there has kept images or photos from this family tradition, send it to us. It will be a good thing to post here and reminisce about the traditions we used to follow.
