I was watching NBC Today the other day and they were warning parents who were watching about having furniture in the home that have glass which isn’t made to be tempered glass. You would normally find these in coffee tables or vanity mirrors.
A child faced an accident while playing inside their home. The parents were nearby. They heard a loud crash inside the house and found their little girl on the floor with broken glass allegedly from the coffee table. One of the pieces pierced the girls side going through her body nearly missing her lungs and her heart. Luckily, she came out of the operation fine and that is where the warning came.
If you have any furniture inside the home with glass which is non-tempered – - you might want to re-think it for the safety of your kids. Either remove the furniture with non-tempered glass from your home or replace it with tempered glass or replace glass mirrors with an acrylic mirror to provide a safer environment for your kids.
Tempered glass is what your car windshield is made out of. When it breaks, it simply crumbles and does not produce large sharp pieces that could endanger piercing or hurting anyone. You can have regular glass turned into tempered glass for a fee. Check out your local listings.

It’s been a while since we received any good news for the family and this one is sure to make you proud.
Kuya Boyette-Dominguez’s daughter, Dennice – has recently passed the NCLEX examination! Woohooo! Congratulations Dennice. Your hard work has absolutely paid off.
Dennice is currently working at a call center in Manila at the moment since call centers do pay more than hospitals I guess. Even so, this is an accomplishment that can provide her the means to soar in her future and we are simply proud!
Congrats Dennice!

The one problem I always have with only using one web host for multiple blogs under one master domain is that if something happens to the master domain, the rest of the sub-domains suffer with it as well.
For example, if our Anti-Aging blog being the master domain, goes down because of too much CPU being used – then, Sanglahi.com will be inaccessible as well. It may cost us a few bucks extra but worth it if you ask me to make sure that all our websites are running separately that should anything happen to one, it won’t affect the others.
The one problem I had before was finding the proper company who will provide the best service for our buck. It’s really hard to tell which hosting company can live up to their promises. They all preach the same promise but the question is, can they deliver.
I have blogger friends who recently moved to another hosting company only to find out that they did not get any improvement on the customer service or even performance for that matter. Therefore, it is great to know that a site does exist that rates web hosting companies providing you a list of Top 10 web hosting companies available. They provide the price you expect to pay per month, the space they offer and traffic limitations. The best part I find about it is the oprtion to read reviews of the companies so you are not going out blindly with a web hosting company without knowing the history of past performance and such.
I would surely rely on reviews heavily should I decide to move our family weblog to another hosting company. They even provide articles that prospective customers could read in order to be completely comfortable with the choice you are going to make. (i.e. cheaper is not always better)
We’ll see.

Pia and Rachel Uy (daughters of Josie Dominguez-Uy) have spread their wings and moved out of their Flushing, New York home and moved into a townhouse in Bayside, NY together with their cousin Lynette. They moved into a very spacious four bedroom home with a deck and lots of living room and kitchen space.
The housewarming was held on August 22nd and I was able to attend and see the house for myself. They got a great deal and I want to congratulate them! Great job guys! Sorry I couldn’t stay for the flip-cup contest.

Have you ever been in a mess. A credit dispute mess? I have been before. Lucky for me, it was only minimal and nothing sort of bank-breaking (knock-on-wood). Some people however, do go through disputes that could result in financial burden if not handled properly. If you have a business of your own, and you want to protect your assets, you should have lawyers at hand who can help you with the sole intent of protecting you and your rights. Tanner & Guiney in Toronto has a site which is kind of simple but it has everything you need in order to understand how they run their firm and how they could be relied upon in time of need.
Bob Tanner and David Guiney are the partners in the firm and both seem to be very well informed lawyers who’ve written several publications about the Credit Association Act, Credit Union Legislations, Protection of Privacy and others.
The site I believe, is enough to show you how competent they are as lawyers. Should you need any assistance and you live in the Toronto, Ontario area – you should give them a call.

Ate Josie is inviting people to her house on July 25th for a Cookware Demonstration party. I forget the brand but it is one of those “best-of-the-best” cookware set that is available only through a house-to-house visit and not available in stores.
Anyone interested? She will make it a “Cookbook” party. She will make all types of meals for the attendees to taste using the cookware they are trying to sell.
If you’re interested, you may contact her through comments on this post or emailing her at uyscream@yahoo.com.
Please let her know and give her some time of notice in advance so she can prepare enough food.

I can’t believe this happened to me twice. I usually take the train to go to work and I park my car at the station – for free. Yes, where I live – they don’t charge parking and when they do (special location inside the lot), they only charge you a dollar. Yup. Only a dollar.
I don’t usually park there because I have been taking the train for years and parking out in the free spots was just fine. Until last year when someone hit my on the driver side and didn’t even bother to leave a note or anything. It cost me a lot to get that repaired. I was lucky to have an autobody near me who gave me a reasonable price and did a fantanstic job. Then, it happened again. I noticed last night when I got out of my car and picked up my mail, the same damage seems visible on the side of my car. I said, “It couldn’t be. Must be the shadow.” I was wrong. Someone hit my car again and like last time, did not even leave a note. Now, I have to get it repaired again. I had forgotten the autobody shop that I went to last year so I went online and typed “auto body shop montclair“. I was in luck! The search found the autobody shop I went to through a network. It was great! If I had to have someone touch my car again, it would be them.

Hello relatives!! The weather has been very nice here on the East Coast. Since July 4th, we had nothing but nice, pleasant and sunny weather. Yeah, there were thunderstorm in two of the nights but it was bright and sunny all through the day.
Here’s a shoutout. Many of our relatives are on Facebook and if you’re reading this post and don’t have an account, I suggest you open one up. The Dizons are there, Alcalas, Reyes, Dominguez and Dangoys. I haven’t seen anyone on the Tanchico’s side of the family.. maybe I should invite them.
Anyway, summer will be gone before you know it. Are we going to have a reunion at all?!
Speak now…

You may not know this but a lot of credit card fraud, hackers and spammers us what you call a proxy server where they can hide their IP address and go undetected. The fact is, even blogs are targeted using proxy servers by hackers and spammers. If you are a merchant with an online store, you would want to protect your site from fraudulent individuals where they use credit cards to purchase merchandise from your store only to find out later that the identity provided by the buyer isn’t real. You will suffer chargebacks and loss of revenue if you’re not vigilant in protecting your site.
There is a solution to that. Did you know that you can detect anonymous servers by using a program that will provide you an Anonymous Proxy List. You can use the tool simply by placing a code in your website that will detect whether the incoming IP address is using a proxy or not. This will help deter spammers and hackers as soon as they see that their access is being traced.
The IP2Proxy provides a proxy list that merchants can use to identify hackers and fraudulent users within a 24 hour period. It is a very manageable tool that webmasters can utilize and it is customizable where the report can be automated to run at specified or scheduled times.
You may also download a Free tool by going to http://www.ip2location.com/demo-ip2proxy.aspx, copying the code and embedding the code into your site. This is a free detection tool that would provide a unique display on your site telling the user whether he has been detected using a proxy server or not. You should give it a try.

The Yahoo Group email that was started by our very own, Divina “Binday” Dominguez-Garcia is alive and well. We all communicate through it, including the Dangoys, the Alcalas, Tanchicos, and the Dominguez clan. However, we haven’t seen much reaction from the Lavariases and the Dizons.
The calendar is well updated (from the active members such as Ate Corrie for the Tanchicos, and Maridee for the Dangoys). Thanks to their active participation.
We would l ike to request for a representative from the Dizons and the Lavariases to help us update the calendars with birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates so that members may be made aware of the special events that they have in mind.
Again many thanks to the active participants… let’s keep the yahoogroup growing.
